Call title: Call for interest of Secondary Payload on EROSS +

The purpose of the Secondary Payload is to allow European academic and industrial entities to propose educational projects or science experiments or technology demonstrations as passengers to the demonstration mission.

The EROSS projects call for interest is part of the EROSS+ project. The call for full proposals will be announced in the first months of the EROSS IOD project (starting in January 2023).

The closing date for filling the survey of the Call for interest of Secondary Payload on EROSS + is 14:59pm (CET), 20 January 2023.

EROSS IOD project description

The EROSS IOD project prepares an in-orbit demonstration of European rendezvous and robotic technologies to support the development of future commercial On-Orbit-Servicing applications.

It includes the transfer from the servicer to the companion spacecraft of a so-called Orbit Replaceable Unit (ORU).

As an opportunity for an experiment or a technology demonstration or a scientific payload, it is proposed to host a secondary “passenger” payload either within an ORU or in a different physical packaging as long as the same constraints are respected.

However, no funding for the development of the passenger payload will be available through this call, and the participants shall be entirely responsible for the cost incurred.

Future EROSS IOD call for proposals main benefit: Flight opportunity of a Secondary Payload in 2026, LEO.
