The European Robotic Orbital Support Services (EROSS+) project. Coordinated by Thales Alenia Space together with European partners, is menat to demonstrate in flight On-Orbit Servicing capabilities using brand new autonomous robotics and rendez-vous technologies.
On-orbit Servicing solutions will enable:
- Robotic manipulation technologies
- Satellite lifespan extension by station keeping and refuelling
- Change of orbit
- End of removal
- Inspection and surveillance
and pave the way to modular space infrastructures:
- upgrade
- repair
- in-orbit assembly and manufacturing
Currently the consortium is in the middle of the project facing the SRR milestone.
